Dr_Thom_Evans_Machu_Picchu_compiledOver the last 15 months Dr. Thom Evans, his Family and the Team here at Evans Dental Health have travelled upon a memorable portion of life's journey; Dr. Evans was put to the test to see if he could 'Walk the Walk'. Often it can be an exercise of faith to perceive the subtle benefits that we stand to gain through overcoming obstacles. Stephen R. Covey has said: “Opposition is a natural part of life.  Just as we develop our physical muscles through overcoming opposition - such as lifting weights - we develop our character muscles by overcoming challenges and adversity.”

With the benefit of 20/20 Hindsight, there has come into focus some of those previously subtle blessings that have been a part of the last year and half. In December 2009, Dr. Evans suffered a serious injury while skiing in Banff that found him in the hospital with multiple crushed ribs, a collapsed lung and a broken collar bone. For a time, Dr. Evans was unable to work and was then, as now, grateful to Dr. Kindal Robertson for his double duty! Part of the benefit of travelling through this time of recovery and discovery has been one of relationships. Evans Dental Health has long represented an integrated approach to dental and overall health where relationships with other health driven practitioners translates to benefits to you. We thought it appropriate to extend recognition and gratitude to a few of the many whose support, wisdom and expertise has facilitated such an exciting recovery for Dr. Evans. The transformation, indeed recovery Dr. Evans has experienced is such that in many ways, he is now healthier than before the skiing accident. It is exciting to consider the combined effect of applying various healing modalities.

Recently, Dr. Evans, his wife Cheryl and their youngest daughter Phoebe returned from a trip to Peru where they were able to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu. This photo of Dr. Evans seen at Machu Pichu on his 60th birthday this year, represents a new portion of his life's journey and symbolizes the combined applied wisdom of the practitioners connected to Dr. Evans both as a patient and as a fellow healing practitioner.

We all need support in nurturing our healthy inclinations; there is no shortage of rationalization out there. Many wellness variables we encounter are not within our control, yet a good deal of them are. Evans Dental Health hopes to be a source of validation for your highest aspirations of overall health; relationships in part have helped Dr. Evans walk the walk.
